Cosmetic Dentistry in West Bloomfield, MI

Whether you want a brighter smile or a complete transformation, your dentist creates cosmetic results that look natural and feel like you.

Veneers, Whitening and Aligners Under One Roof

Cosmetic dentistry is a small number of treatments that do very different jobs. Whitening changes the color of natural teeth and nothing else. Bonding rebuilds a chipped edge in one visit. Aligners move teeth that are crowded or have drifted. Veneers change shape, length and color together. Most people arrive asking for one of them by name, and often the honest answer is a different one.

Working out which one is yours is most of what a cosmetic dentist in West Bloomfield should be doing before anything is planned. We start from what actually bothers you, then find the treatment that answers it for the least money and the least done to your teeth. Sometimes that is teeth whitening and one bonded edge. Sometimes it is porcelain veneers, and sometimes the real problem is position, which is clear aligners.

Every case here is designed, prepared and fitted by our own team, and the porcelain itself is made to that design by a dental laboratory. You see the finished result and approve it before anything becomes permanent, which matters more here than anywhere else in dentistry, because what is judged at the end is not whether the treatment worked. It is whether it looks like you.

Who We Help

Is This Right for You?

If you recognize your own smile in any of these, there is usually more than one way to change it. We go through the options together before anything is decided.

  • Staining that will not shift

Years of coffee, tea, red wine or tobacco, or a shade that has simply dulled with age.

  • Chips, gaps and uneven edges

One broken corner, a gap you have never liked, or front teeth that no longer match each other.

  • Crowded or drifting teeth

Teeth that have moved over the years, including back toward where they were before braces.

  • One tooth that lets the rest down

A single tooth darker, shorter or differently shaped than the ones beside it.

  • A date in the calendar

A wedding, a reunion or a new role, and enough time to do it properly rather than quickly.

When We Might Advise Waiting

None of these is a no. They are the things that change what we would recommend, and they are much better raised now than after you have spent anything.

  • Gums that are not healthy yet

Veneers and crowns sit at the gum line, so the gum has to be settled before anything is bonded to it.

  • Untreated decay

Covering a tooth does not treat what is happening underneath it, so that gets dealt with first.

  • Heavy grinding or clenching

Porcelain will lose that fight. A night guard comes first, and it protects what you are about to pay for.

  • Expecting whitening to change existing work

Whitening only lifts natural tooth, so crowns and veneers in your smile line have to be planned around it.

  • A shade that is further than your enamel goes

Grey tones, injury darkening and some medication staining respond far less than ordinary yellowing does.

The Question Everyone Asks

What Decides the Cost of Cosmetic Treatment

There is no price on this page, and there is a reason. Cosmetic treatment is where the same request produces the widest range of answers: two people who both want a better smile can need one appointment or a plan running several months. Any figure we published would be wrong for most people reading it. Here is what moves it instead.

  • 1Which treatment
  • 2How many teeth
  • 3Groundwork first
  • 4Materials
  • 5Insurance
What moves the number, in full
Which treatment actually answers your goal
The biggest factor, and it is settled first. Whitening is the least involved thing here, bonding one edge is a single visit, aligners run over months, and veneers sit at the top because each is made for one tooth. Starting with the least that will do the job is usually the better result as well as the smaller number.
How many teeth are actually in your smile
Most cosmetic treatment is quoted per tooth, so the figure follows how far back your smile goes when you talk and laugh. For some people that is two teeth, for others eight or ten so the shade stays consistent to the corners. We work that out from your own smile, not from a package.
Whether anything has to be treated first
Cosmetic work goes onto healthy teeth and gums or it does not last. Decay under an old filling, or gums that bleed and measure too deep, get treated before anything is built on them. This is the part most likely to be missing from a quote you were given elsewhere.
What it is made of, and where it is made
Porcelain, composite and the various ceramics behave differently and cost differently to make. A veneer fired in a lab is a different product from a composite shaped in the chair, and neither is automatically right. We go through that tradeoff rather than deciding it for you.
What your plan will and will not pay
Usually nothing. Most plans treat cosmetic treatment as elective, unlike restorative work where they commonly pay part. Where a treatment does both jobs, such as a crown that rebuilds a broken tooth and improves how it looks, there is often coverage. We check your plan and tell you which side of that line you are on.

What You Get Before You Commit

The whole plan in writing
You leave your consultation with the treatments, the order, the visits and the full cost written down, including any groundwork first. Nothing is quoted a stage at a time.
Payment spread if you want it
This is the category insurance helps with least, so CareCredit and Cherry matter more here than anywhere else. Both are explained below.

Will Anyone Be Able to Tell?

This gets asked far more often than any question about pain. Most people do not want a new smile. They want their own smile on a good day, without anybody working out why. Here is how that is actually achieved.

How a natural result is actually achieved 4 things that decide whether it reads as dental work
The shade is chosen against your face, not from a chart
Skin tone, the whites of your eyes and your own remaining teeth decide which white reads as health and which reads as dentistry. The brightest available shade is almost never the right one, and picking it is the most common way a good case ends up looking obvious.
Real teeth are not one flat color
A natural tooth is warmer at the gum, lighter at the biting edge, slightly translucent at the tip, and never quite identical to the one beside it. Good porcelain copies all of that, imperfections included. Work that reads as fake is usually work made too perfect.
You see it before it is permanent
Veneer cases go through temporaries you wear and live with, and the finished set is tried in before anything is bonded. If the length is wrong or the shape is not you, that gets found and changed while it still can be.
Doing less is often the better answer
Plenty of people who come in asking for veneers leave with whitening and one bonded edge, because that is what the case needed. We say so when the smaller treatment gets you the result you described, even though it is the smaller number.

Veneer and Aligner Consultations Are Free

If you are considering porcelain veneers or clear aligners, the consultation costs nothing. Tell us what bothers you and hear which treatments would actually answer it, including the ones that cost less than what you came in asking about. Teeth whitening is booked as a treatment visit rather than a consultation.

Common Questions

Cosmetic Dentistry Questions

How long do porcelain veneers last?

With good care, porcelain veneers typically last somewhere between ten and twenty years. Grinding and biting hard objects are what shorten that, so a night guard is part of the plan for patients who grind.

Is professional teeth whitening safe?

Yes. Professional whitening is monitored by your dentist and is safe for your teeth and gums, whether done in office or with a custom take home kit.

How long does clear aligner treatment take?

Most patients complete treatment in six months to a year and a half, depending on how much movement is needed. Your dentist will give you a personalized timeline at your consultation.

Can cosmetic dentistry fix a chipped tooth?

Yes. A chipped tooth can often be repaired in a single visit with bonding, or covered with a veneer or crown for a longer lasting result.

Does insurance cover cosmetic dentistry?

Usually not, because most plans pay toward treatment that restores health rather than changes appearance. That is why we offer CareCredit and Cherry, and why you will know what your treatment costs before you decide to go ahead with it. The quickest way to get a real answer for your own case is a short conversation. Call us at (248) 863-9109 or book online.
