Privacy Policy
How we handle the information you send us through this website.
The short version
The only information you give us on this website is what you choose to type into our contact form. We also count visits, so we can see which pages people read and whether the form is working. We do not collect medical information online, we do not sell or rent your information, and we do not show advertising on this site.
We also record how visitors move through the pages, meaning mouse movement, scrolling, and what gets tapped or clicked, so we can see where the site is confusing and fix it. What you type into the contact form is masked, so it is not recorded and never reaches that tool.
What we collect
Our contact form asks for your name, phone number, email address, and a short message. That is all it collects. Please do not include medical history, diagnoses, or any other health information in the message field. If you need to discuss something medical, call our office at (248) 863-9109 and we will talk it through with you directly.
How the form works
The contact form is handled by Formspree, a third party service that receives your submission and delivers it to our practice inbox. Formspree processes the message on our behalf and is bound by its own privacy terms. We read these messages at the office and use them only to answer your question or schedule your visit.
Your phone number
We ask for a phone number so we can call or text you back about your question or your appointment. That is the only reason. We do not use it for marketing, we do not add you to a promotional list, and we do not pass it to anyone selling anything. If you would rather we only email you, say so in the message and we will.
How long we keep it
Contact form messages stay in our practice email inbox. We keep them only as long as we need them to respond to you and to keep a record of the conversation. If you would like a message deleted, call or email us and we will take care of it.
Keeping your information safe
Our website runs over an encrypted connection, and contact form messages are delivered to a practice email account that only our team can reach. We limit who sees these messages to the people who need them to answer you.
No website can promise perfect security, and email is not a secure channel, which is why we ask you to keep health information out of the form and call us instead.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not run advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or retargeting of any kind. Nothing here follows you around the internet, and we do not sell or share your browsing activity.
That is still true of the session recording described below. It is there to show us how this website is used, it is not connected to any advertising account, and it does not follow you to other websites.
A few things are worth knowing. Our web host keeps basic technical logs so the site stays online and secure. The map on our contact and location pages is embedded from Google, which means Google loads it directly in your browser and can see your IP address and set its own cookies when the page opens, the same as if you had visited Google Maps yourself. We do not receive that information. If you would rather not load it, you can reach us by phone or use the address at the bottom of any page.
Another is our payment plans page. That one page embeds a payment calculator from Cherry, our financing partner, and Cherry loads it directly in your browser along with their own analytics provider. That means Cherry can see your IP address and set their own cookies while you are on that page, and anything you type into their calculator goes to Cherry rather than to us. It runs on that page only, nowhere else on this site. If you would rather not load it, every other page is free of it, and you can always call us and we will talk you through your options instead.
The last two are our own. We use Google Analytics to see how the site is doing, which pages people read, roughly where in the country they are, what kind of device they are on, and whether the contact form is working. It sets a cookie in your browser to recognize a return visit. It does not tell us who you are, we never connect it to your patient record, and we do not use it for advertising.
If you would rather not be counted, most browsers let you block cookies for a site, and Google publishes a browser extension that turns Google Analytics off everywhere you go. Blocking it changes nothing about how this site works for you.
The other is Microsoft Clarity, and it does something different, so it is worth saying separately. Google Analytics counts pages. Clarity records the session, meaning how the mouse moved, how far the page was scrolled, and what was tapped or clicked, and it combines those sessions into heat maps. We use it to find the parts of the site that are awkward on a phone, and the places where people give up on the contact form. It sets its own cookie to recognize a return visit.
What it does not record is anything you type into the contact form. Every field in that form is masked before the recording is made, so the characters never leave your browser and never reach Microsoft. That is deliberate. Please still keep detailed health information out of the form and call us instead, for the reasons in the section above.
Clarity does not tell us who you are, we never connect it to your patient record, and we do not use it for advertising. If you would rather not be recorded, most browsers let you block cookies for a site, and blocking it changes nothing about how this site works for you.
Links to other sites
Some buttons on this site take you to services we do not control, including our online booking page, our Google Business Profile, and our financing partners. Once you leave this site, the privacy policy of that service applies instead of ours.
Your records at the practice
This policy covers this website only. Your dental records and any information you give us in the office are protected separately under HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices. You receive that notice with your new patient forms, and you can request a copy at the front desk any time.
Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from a child through it. Parents and guardians should submit the contact form on their child's behalf.
Asking for a copy or a deletion
You can ask us what you have sent through this website, ask for a copy of it, or ask us to delete it. Call or email us and we will take care of it, usually within a few business days. We may need to confirm who you are first, and we will keep anything the law requires us to keep.
This applies to messages sent through this website. Your dental records at the practice work differently and are covered by HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices.

Changes to this policy
If we change how this website handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say what changed rather than quietly swapping the text.
