Multiple Tooth Implants in West Bloomfield, MI

Several missing teeth replaced with implant supported crowns or a fixed bridge, without cutting down the healthy teeth around them.

Replacing Several Missing Teeth With Implants

When you are missing two or more teeth, you do not always need one implant per tooth. A small number of well placed implants can support a fixed bridge that spans the gap, which keeps treatment efficient without giving up the stability of implants.

Your dentist plans the number and position of implants around your bone, your bite, and the teeth you still have, then places and restores them here in our office. Where implants are not the right fit for your health or your budget, partial dentures do the same job differently and we will say so plainly.

Who We Help

Is This Right for You?

Several gaps do not always mean several implants. The plan starts with looking at where your bone actually is.

  • You are missing two or more teeth in the same area
  • You have a partial denture you would rather not keep wearing
  • Neighboring teeth are healthy and you want to keep them untouched
  • Chewing has become difficult on one side
  • You want a fixed result rather than something that comes out

Your Treatment

How Your Treatment Is Sequenced

  1. Planning the Positions

Your dentist maps where implants need to sit to support the teeth being replaced, using the bone you have as efficiently as possible.

  2. Placement

The implants are placed in one appointment with local anesthesia. Bone grafting is done at the same time if a site needs building up.

  3. Healing and Temporaries

You wear temporary teeth while the implants fuse with the bone over the following months, so you are never left with a visible gap.

  4. The Final Teeth

We fit the finished crowns or bridge, check how everything meets when you bite, and adjust until chewing feels even on both sides.

After Your Treatment

Multiple Tooth Implants Aftercare and Recovery

Recovery varies from person to person. This is what most patients can expect, and your dentist goes through your own instructions with you before you leave.

The First 24 Hours
Expect light oozing for the first few hours and settle it with gentle gauze pressure. Rest with your head raised, and leave every site undisturbed rather than exploring them with your tongue. Avoid forceful rinsing, spitting, and straws for the first day.
What to Eat and What to Avoid
Soft, cool foods for the first week or so, since with several sites there is often no comfortable side to favor. Avoid crunchy, chewy, and very hot foods while the tissue settles. Return to firmer textures gradually, and let comfort rather than a date decide the pace.
Swelling and Discomfort (Edema)
Because more than one site is involved, swelling is usually more noticeable than after a single implant and typically peaks around the second or third day. Cold compresses on the first day help, and some bruising can appear as swelling settles. Your dentist will go over what to take before you leave.
How the Implants Settle In (Osseointegration)
Soft tissue generally closes within one to two weeks, while the implants need bone to grow tightly against them before they can carry the final teeth. That commonly falls somewhere in the range of three to six months, and can be longer where grafting was needed. Where sites healed at different rates, we may restore in stages rather than all at once.
When to Call the Office
Call our office if discomfort is climbing rather than easing after the first few days, or if swelling increases after about day three. Call if any implant or healing component feels loose, if bleeding restarts and does not settle, or if a site develops a persistent bad taste or odor. A fever is a reason to call promptly.

Placed and Restored in One Office

We place and restore implants in our own office, including bone grafting and sinus lift procedures when the jaw needs preparing first. It is common for a practice to send the surgical half elsewhere and handle only the final crown. Here every stage happens in one place, with one set of records and one team who already know your case.

New patients are usually seen within the same week.

Quick, smooth and pain free

I have a bad phobia of going to the dentist after bad previous experiences. The doctors and assistants here were very accommodating and made sure I did not experience any pain. My experience was very quick, smooth and pain free.

Common Questions

Multiple Tooth Implants Questions

Do I need one implant for every missing tooth?

No. Two implants can often support a bridge replacing three or more teeth. Your dentist will show you the most efficient plan for your bone and your bite.

Can I replace missing teeth on both sides at once?

Yes, and it is often more efficient to do so. We plan the sequence so you are comfortable and able to eat throughout treatment.

Are implant supported bridges better than partial dentures?

They are fixed rather than removable, they do not rest on your gums, and they help preserve the bone underneath. Partial dentures remain a reasonable option when cost or health rules implants out.

What if I have been missing the teeth for years?

Bone shrinks over time in an empty area, but that is often solvable with grafting. Your dentist performs bone grafting here in our office as part of implant treatment.

Does insurance help with implant supported bridges?

Often in part, and how much varies by plan. Because two implants can carry a bridge replacing three or more teeth, this is frequently the more efficient route, and our team reviews your benefits and your financing options before you commit. The quickest way to get a real answer for your own case is a short conversation. Call us at (248) 863-9109 or book online.
